La web Metro News ha publicado un artículo con las próximas fechas de lanzamientos de nuevos discos para este año 2010.
My Chemical Romance y su nuevo álbum -aún sin nombre- tendría fecha de venta para el 30 de Marzo, y se espera un primer single en las próximas semanas.

Gerard Way le cuenta a NME.COM los nuevos planes de la banda con el álbum siguiente a "The Black Parade".

Gerard Way de MCR a indicado que la banda empezara el tour para el nuevo album en "clubes punk", álbum el cual esta cerca a terminarse.

En una entrevista publicada en la edición impresa de NME, Way habla todo acerca de el sucesor de su album de 2006 "The Black Parade". Como bien se ha venido hablando canciones como "Black Dragon Figthing Society" y "Ligth Behind Your Eyes", admite que la idea de tocar en pequeños lugares surge porque por una parte las nuevas canciones se ajustan a este ambiente, y por otra parte el actual clima económico.

"El disco que hemos hecho refleja el tamaño del lugar donde vamos a tocarlos", explica Way. "Podemos tocar estas canciones en estadios, podemos tocarlas en arenas. Pero también podemos tocarlas en clubs punk, y tal vez esas personas van a poder ir la próxima vez que estemos cerca. Quien sabe?"

Hablando del nuevo disco, el cual hasta el momento esta sin nombre, Way sugiere que los fans deberían esperar música menos teatral que en sus anteriores albums.

"La gente solo quiere fucking rock", explico. Luego añadió: "Yo no se lo que las personas dicen ahora, y no puedo comentar en el disco de nadie mas, pero ciertamente siento algo en el aire, como, si las personas quisieran la verdad ellos no necesitan una gran historia"

En alguna otra parte de la entrevista, Way dice que otra pista del el album "Bullet proof heart"- es el posible nuevo single de la banda, referencia a THE KILLERS con "Jenny was a friend of mine"

Hola! bien , hoy les traigo el supuesto listado de canciones del nuevo cd de My Chemical Romance, NO ES OFICIAL pero es un 90% probable. Tambien les aprovecho de decir que el nombre del cd aun no esta ! muchos creen que sera a love letter to rock & roll pero eso fue solo una forma de describir el cd que dio gee way, lo que no quiere decir que asi se llamara !, tambien otros creen q tendra el nombre de la cancion death before disco, pero tampoco es oficial, solo debemos esperar y no creer todo lo que dicen, se los digo por que no me gusta cuando los ilusionan y es mentira :/Y Aqui esta la lista de la que les hable !!! :

Lo nuevo de MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE.

El álbum que será el sucesor de The black parade, encontró su inspiración en los autos y la película Blade Runner. Incluso la banda Judas Priest influenció este nuevo trabajo, según contó el líder de My Chemical Romance, Gerard Way. “El hecho de que haya una canción que puede llegar a llamarse Trans-Am. Es un tanto audaz hacer algo tan opuesto a nuestro material anterior”, contó Way a Spinner. “Hay algo en esa frase que es mucho más que el auto. Traer la cultura de los autos de los ’70 a la música en una movida distinta”. Unos meses atrás, Way había usado el Twitter para comprar un Trans Am (un tipo de auto de carrera) y en ese momento explicó que lo necesitaba para una investigación para su disco.
Otro de los tracks del disco será Death before disco, con Judas Priest como fuente de inspiración. “De alguna extraña manera, esa canción me hace acordar a lo mejor de los ’80, como el cock rock”, explicó Way. “Judas Priest está considerada una banda metalera, pero es un rock and roll increíble. No tiene nada que ver con la era del metal, pero está relacionado con el nacimiento del power- anthem.
”“Mil veces vi Blase Runner y el making of de la película. Rideley Scott (El director) fue realmente inspirador, su falta de voluntad para poner la cámara y capturar algo realmente especial. La gente se decepciona por eso, pero él tenía una visión muy fuerte”, contó Way. Y agregó: “La banda también tiene una visión muy particular, tenemos un barómetro muy alto y por eso la grabación del CD llevó cuatro meses en vez de uno y medio”.
¿Cuándo va a estar en la calle? Recién para el otoño de 2010. Así que habrá que tener paciencia para escucharlo y decidir si el cambio fue positivo o un desastre.

G-WAY: "Grabe el nuevo album de MCR cubierto en vomito de Bebe^^"

Las fatigas de ser padre y grabar al mismo tiempo....

El vocalista de MCR Gerard Way ha considera que hacer su nuevo album es mas dificil que cuidar a un bebe!^^

La cantante Lin Z esposa de el cantante tubo a la bebe en medio de un tour, por lo que Way ha tenido que hacer malabares para grabar y cambiar pañales.

Dijo a US magazine Spin: "Grabar fue mas desafiante que la bebe, y la bebe fue realmente desafiante!!"

"Estaba bastante cansado. LinZ y yo tubimos el bebe, y despues solo dos semanas despues ya estana en el studio.

Añadio:" No me afeite por semanas, lucia horrible, y al final termine teniendo todo mi cabello con trenzas rastas (dreadlocks).

"Nunca me bañaba. Podia ir a grabar incluso con una camiseta cubierta en vomito de Bebe- podras claramente imaginarte la glamurosidad de eso. Y asi debiamos trabajar todos los dias, y tan pronto como terminaba corria de regreso a casa a ayudar a LinZ con la bebe."

My Chemical Romance sólo quiere rock

Gerard Way advirtió que en el nuevo álbum de la banda dejarán la teatralidad de lado.
My Chemical Romance no se cansa de dar pistas sobre su nuevo disco, el cual debería ver la luz el próximo año.
Luego de sus declaraciones hechas en noviembre a la revista Kerrang! sobre que la banda se estaba tomando su tiempo en el estudio, ahora Gerard Way dejó en claro que sus fans pueden esperar rock y nada más. "Con este álbum hemos tratado de ignorar toda la tontería cosmética y nos hemos enfocado en convertirnos en una verdadera banda de rock", le dijo a Rock Sound. "Sentimos que el mundo necesitaba una banda de rock puro. Es difícil encontrar algo así estos días. Ha sido menos teatralidad y más sobre cómo convertirnos en la mejor banda de rock americano".

“Rock n’ roll no es alfombras rojas y quien tiene más amigos en MySpace. El rock n’ roll es peligroso y debería molestar a la gente, y hoy en día eso no está pasando. Hoy en día todos intentan ser famosos y millonarios, esa parece ser la meta de la bandas”.

El grupo ahora se centra sólo en la música, y considera que todo eso no le hace bien a la música, o por lo menos eso explicó el cantante en una entrevista, Gearard Way considera que hoy en día el deseo por hacerse famoso y conseguir dinero supera al deseo de generar buena música.

El disco sucesor de The Black Parade (todavía no tiene nombre) según el grupo es un álbum que mezcla varios sonidos, y que ya no se cierra sólo en el pop-punk que caracterizaba a la banda. Según el cantante pasan por varios estados que fueron influenciados por varias bandas como Pink Floyd, Judas Priest, Velvet Underground y The Stooges. “En vez de estar buscando la manera de hacernos más famosos y ganar más plata, nos dedicamos a escribir música. Intentamos hacer un gran álbum, y si eso vende discos bienvenido sea…pero no queremos hacer cualquier otra cosa para hacernos más famosos” explicó el líder Gerard Way.

Nota sobre el nuevo CD en La Rolling Stone!

A principios de la grabación del cuarto álbum de My Chemical Romance, la banda le mostro a Rich Costey una vista previa. "Todo lo que oí fue sólo ruido y escupir", recuerda el cantante Gerard Way.

Desconcertado, Costy preguntó, "¿Cuáles son estas canciones?"
"Son canciones de protesta," Way le dijo. "Es el sonido de 'no'." Sólo más tarde Way cuenta exactamente de lo que estaba protestando: "Yo estaba protestando con nosotros".

Después de una gira agotadora 2006 tras el desfile Negro, MCR terminaron hartos y muy cansados. "Pensé que la banda iba a romper", dice el guitarrista Frank Iero. "Yo estaba esperando una llamada de Gerard diciendo:" No podemos hacer más. "" En su lugar,se tomaron un año sabático y los managers cambiaron. En febrero pasado, entraron en la antigua A & M Studios en Los Ángeles con Pearl Jam el productor Brendan O'Brien.

"El plan consistía en golpear hacia fuera y no sobrepensarlo", dice el baterista Bob Bryar. Se espera que se realice en abril, pero la grabacion termino tomandoles casi todo el año. El objetivo, dice Way, fue dejar la teatralidad de TBP en el que había un montón de Floyd-ian(?) y un camaeo- Liza Minnelli - y "para aprovechar todo lo bueno acerca de esta banda en canciones más cortas. Casi protopunk, como los Stooges o los MC5. "

La canción que los colocó en la dirección correcta fue "Trans Am". Comienza con la letra "I got a bulletproof heart" y, a continuación pisa a través de cuatro minutos de puño-rock de bombeo.

Con esa nueva dirección - apasionada pero melódica - MCR dejar de lado el material más ruidoso que había estado trabajando y escribió un nuevo lote de canciones: la rápida y sucia "Still Alive", el himno "The Only Hope for Me Is You" y el super-pegadiza "Death Before Disco" (con el coro "Everybody pay attention to me"). "Simplemente, abrazó el rock & roll y de dónde somos", dice Way. "Hemos aprendido a ser una banda de rock estadounidense en lugar de una banda de rock británico".

En una tarde de octubre en Los Ángeles, MCR son el pulido del álbum. Sólo hay uno o dos meses de trabajo de la izquierda: algo de mezcla, algunos overdums, y secuenciación. Hoy en día, Way está trabajando en ese corte fundamental, "Trans Am" - que cree que se verá reforzada por "1,2 segundos de Queen".

Así que se calienta las cuerdas vocales, se desliza sobre unos auriculares, y pregunta: "Can I get a little bit of reverb? Yeah, it's a crutch." Luego se canta: "These pigs are after me, after you" una docena de veces, la creación de un "Bohemian Rhapsody" la armonía. Su rendimiento es sylized, casi como un canto a la tirolesa. Con una sonrisa, que anuncia: "When I start sounding teenage-girlish, that's the sweet stuff."

Way de buen humor, y no sólo porque ya casi tienen grabado el album. En 2007, se casó con Lyn-Z (bajista de la banda Mindless Self Indulgence), en mayo, nacio una niña, Bandit. Way tomó dos semanas de descanso y regresó a trabajar "como un zombi, el pelo largo y sin afeitar." Pero la paternidad le dio una nueva perspectiva en sus letras, que se centró en la desesperación y la muerte. "Yo no estaba escribiendo un album sobre cómo ser papá, y yo no estaba escribiendo para mi bebé, yo estaba escribiendo un album para la persona que va a convertirse en 15 años, si algo ha pasado en la mí ".

Cuarto disco en puerta

Es un Hecho. My Chemical Romance ha regresado al estudio de grabacion para realizar lo que sera su cuarto trabajo discográfico, El Cual En un principio se dijo que saldría hasta el 2010, pero recientemenre tanto la casa disquera como el mismo grpo han dicho que sera a finales de 2009 Cuando este tan esperado nuevo albun llegue a las tiendas.

Los primeros comentarios sobre el nuevo disco de MCR se Dieron A finales del 2008 Cuando en distintas entrevistas los mienbros empezaban una esborzar opiniones sobre Lo que se encontraban haciendo. Por un lado, Gerard Way habia dicho que despues de terminar la gira, gozaba de tiempo para escribir canciones y sentia que era el momento ideoneo para regresar a grabar. Sin duda, la empresa Va a ser muy dura, ya que despues de dos albumes Exitosos la banda tiene los reflectores Encima para lo que sera su nuevo disco.

Aun no se Tienen detalles d kien sera el productor del esperado cuarto CD,, pero se rumora que el conocido productor Rob Caballo sera nuevamente el encargado de la tarea.

Rob Cavallo conoce al grupo a la perfección, ya que con ellos grabo el ultimo disco El Desfile Negro. Cavallo es conocido en l aindustria de la musica por se un Rey Midas, basicamente todo lo que toca lo vuelve oro, si no, basta co n escuchar el ya citado El Desfile Negro y antes de American Idiot Green Day.

SIN CONCEPTO

En las ultimas entrevistas realizadas un Distintos medios, Gerard Way ha comentado que el nuevo material, antes de la muerte llamado Disco, un disco sera mas conciso y lejano A LOS conceptos de Creers árbol para el Revange Sweer y El Desfile Negro. Ambos discos estabandetras de un concepto, el primero tenia que ver mucho con la reciente muerte de la abuela de Gerard Way, Mientras que el segundo hablaba sobre los medios y la guerra. Ahora la banda busca que las bandas sean consistentes en cuanto al sonido, las letras pero no tendran un hilo conductor entre si, dijo lo que tenia que decir EN CUANTO A conceptos se Refiere Gerard segun ya y ahora quiere estar mas liberado para componer lo que le venga en gana practicamente.

Respecto al sonido, Gerard dijo que esta vez buscan crudeza y que carezca de tantos arreglos, se dice que sera mucho mas cercano al punk rock clasico, como se aprecia en la muerte antes de cancion disco (Roxy). Quiza por eso mismo la opcion de Rob Cavallo mar la mas Indicada, ya que tambien se dijo en un principio que el nuevo Posiblemente fuera productor Ritch Costey, quien con trabajo Muse, Bloc Partu, Franz Ferdinand e Interpol, y que apenas en octubre el Productor de MyChemical Romance en el cover que hicieran un Bob Dylan en la película Watchmen.

Pero actualmente el grupo graba su cuarto disco, bajo la producción de Brendan O'Brien, que produjo precisamente lo último del Jefe, trabajando en un estudio de las Naciones Unidas y dream.En de Los Ángeles junto al productor "hacedor de éxitos" Brendan O'Brien Detrás de la consola, My Chem se encuentra grabando las canciones que le daran cuerpo a su cuarto álbum en estudio.

La banda Comenzó a escribir las canciones en mayo de 2008, una semana Después de terminar un año de gira presentando el álbum multiplatino "El Desfile Negro" (2006), pero según el cantante y líder Gerard Way los temas realmente empezaron a salir seis meses después. Camino También señala que este es el primer disco que graba la banda que no está Centrado en ningun concepto.

"En este punto, la mejor Manera de describir el nuevo álbum es My Chemical Romance en su más pura y destilada versión de si mismo", comenta Way. "Nada de pitos ni campanas, el foco está puesto en la melodía y las composiciones. Si no funcionan en una sala con nosotros cinco, Tratamos de que funcione en el estudio con cuerdas y efectos. La grabación de 'El desfile nos Negro' Sirviö para saber qué funcionaba y qué no, para experimentar y agregar un montón de elementos que nunca habíamos tenido. Para mí, esto es la Culminación de todo lo que aprendimos como compositores e intérpretes ".

La venganza y El guitarrista Ray Toro agrega: "La dirección del nuevo álbum es un mix perfecto de lo que hicimos con 'El Negro Parade' ''. Negro Parade 'Después de' estábamos listos para un sonido más agresivo, similar a 'La venganza', pero aun más duro. Como estuvimos de gira con 'Durante Negro Parade' mucho tiempo, queremos hacer lo opuesto de eso ahora ".

De Acuerdo A LOS integrantes de la banda, las canciones de este nuevo trabajo Comenzaron A Ser escritas en mayo del año pasado, una semana Después de poner fin a la gira de presentación del Exitoso "El desfile negro". La dirección del nuevo álbum es La venganza y un mix perfecto de lo que hicimos con 'desfile negro' ''-dijo, por su parte, el baterista Ray Toro. La estábamos Después de "desfile negro" listos para un sonido más agresivo, similar a 'La venganza', pero aun más duro. Como el de gira estuvimos Durante mucho tiempo con "desfile negro", ahora queremos hacer algo opuesto ".

Refiendose nuevamente al sonido, Gerard Way dijo a la revista Kerrang! en febrero pasado que quieren que se graben las canciones en vivo como se hacia antes, es decir, todos tocando al mismo tiempo xomo una banda y despues de garaje que se aga la mezcla de Producción y Trabajo, con el fin de que el Tenga un disco sonido mucho mas fuerte y real.

Todos los mienbros de My Chemical Romance opinan que no quieren permancer tanto tiempo encerrados en un estudio y qu epienzan hacer esto mas rapido de lo normal, quiza como Plazo minimo en un mes, lo que quiere decir que uno mas tardar en marzo o abril el Fue disco ya terminado, y que de alli enmas, los siguientes meses seran ara Cuestiones de producción.

Al parecer WARNER MUSIC, ha llegado a un acuerdo con YOUTUBE, para poder publicar los videos oficiales y videos con musica oficial de las agrupaciones de warner, asi que !! muy pronto (la verdad no se si ya..) estaran disponibles las versiones originales para todos^^

Warner’s music could also end up on Vevo, the YouTube-supported video service Universal Music Group and Sony Music plan to launch by the end of the year. For now, this deal only puts Warner’s videos back on YouTube, according to a source close to the situation, who also confirmed ongoing negotiations between Vevo and Warner.

What to say?
Things have been crazy- but most importantly I'm a fucking DAD!
Back in Los Angeles and fighting off the jet-lag from Tokyo, though it seems I am slipping out of my coma.
I apologize for the radio silence, but I generally shut-down when we are working on a new album, and adjusting to the new addition in my life has kept me very busy. But I think it's almost time to put this record to bed, though it doesn't sleep- it thrashes.
I want to thank my beautiful wife for creating with me the most special little person I have ever met.

“Death before disco” es una canción del grupo estadounidense My Chemical Romance, que será incluida en su cuarto álbum de estudio.
Gerard Way, vocalista del grupo, ha manifestado que es una canción destacada de entre el resto. En entrevista con la revista Rolling Stone, Way comentó que la canción presenta un sonido completamente diferente para la banda, y que, en cuanto a la letra, es un retorno a la ficción de su primer álbum, I brought you my bullets, you brought me your love; también dijo: “Para mí, es la más grandiosa canción que jamás hemos escrito; es mi canción de My Chemical Romance favorita”. Como ya sabiamos, GEE participo en el COMIC CON, consu proyecto junto a Gabriel Ba : THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY.
A continuacion unos videos gracias a YOU'RE NOT IN THIS ALONE, de la participacion de Gee en el evento.

¿Es difícil tener dos trabajos?
Gerard Way: Jajaja…
- Hay que pagar las cuentas.
- O sea, si tuvieras que elegir sólo uno.
(Publico “Uhhhh”)
- Recuerda que estas en Comic-Con.
Gerard Way: Si, si, Comics. Eeeh…es duro? No por que puedes hacer los dos. Cuando estamos en gira, a veces pasas nueve horas sin hacer nada. Así que siento la necesidad de ocupar ese tiempo para escribir comics. De hecho eso funciona muy bien.
- De hecho las series las escribiste estando de gira.
Gerard Way: Si, si. Y cada episodio fue terminado en países distintos, y encuentro que eso es asombroso. La razón por la que Vietnam aparece en la segunda saga es por que comencé a escribir eso cuando estábamos de gira allá.
- Hay alguien de Vietnam por ahí.
Gerard Way: ¿Eres de Vietnam? Es asombroso allá. Los skooters? El tema de los skooters? Era un caos, vimos una infinidad de Skooters.
- Por eso se te ocurrió lo de Seance en skooters con un bebé?
Gerard Way: Si, sin cascos. Bueno y entonces si tuviera que elegir, a mi realmente me funciona, de hecho si hago todo esto, y me gustaría hacer mas. Me gustaría dirigir un programa de televisión, me gustaría hacer películas, me gustaría hacer todo, mientras tenga algo que decir y una razón para hacerlo, lo haré. Es muy difícil tener que elegir, siento que si no pudiera hacer ambas cosas (la música y los comics) me sentiría perdido.

Gerard Way, Parte I: “Umbrella Academy”

Pronto llegara la tercera parte de THE UBRELLA ACADEMY, comic de Gee Way junto a Gabriel Ba, esto fue anunciado por Dark House, encargada de la publicación de los anteriores trabajos de Way y Ba, la noticia fue anunciada en viernes en el COMIC CON, la tercera parte llevara el nombre de “Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion”, el cual será anunciado por Gerard Way el sábado en la convención.
Gracias a Comic Book Resourse (CBR) tenemos un breve sneal peak que Gerard les dio en una entrevista: D!!

“Como las series 2 y la serie 3 de ‘Umbrella Academy” va a levantarse después de lo que hemos dejado”, dice Way. “Pero esto va este va a comenzar con el comienzo de un flashback y vamos a poder ver uno de los más viejos personajes desde el “Día de los Comic Gratis”, el Mago Asesino. Básicamente, nosotros veremos que hizo Hargreeves con todos esos villanos durante los años.
“Realmente me gusta esta serie, la he tenido en mi cabeza durante mucho tiempo”, continuó el escritor. A pesar que Way nota que sus historias algunas veces cambian en cuanto a cómo contarlas, él esta consiente de cómo se presentan los eventos en “Hotel Oblivion”. “ Esta vez, estoy pensando en que esto va a tener más que ver con los otros personajes más que con la Umbrella Academy, al menos la mitad del comic. Van a ver el otro lado de las cosas”, dijo Way a CBR.
El grupo central, de todas maneras, continuará con sus vidas.”Obviamente, Spaceboy se va de nuevo, nosotros ladearemos con eso, y todos en sus diferentes estados de decadencia. Aunque me gustaría ver la familia un poco más funcional a este punto. Van a poder ver a Rumor tomar una diferente actitud hacia Vanya ahora, por muchas razones, numero uno ser su propia culpa. La historia va a ser ahora desarrollada.”

Way dice que el pasado de THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY continuará apareciendo mediante flashbacks, sin planes de presentar la devota serie de los jóvenes e inocentes días. “En términos de que paso realmente en el accidente de Jennifer y ese estilo de cosas, pienso que sería bueno dedicar una historia entera a esa parte. Pero pienso que esta todavía muy lejos.” Dijo Way a CBR. “Nosotros no hemos explicado porque Kraken no tiene un ojo, no sabemos qué le pasó al brazo de Rumor, hay todas estas extrañas pequeñas preguntas que están todavía en el aire. Mientras sigamos, y cuando estas situaciones se vuelvan relevantes, las diré. En esta historia en particular, estoy muy entusiasmado porque tiene que ver mucho con lo que hizo Hargreeves a todos esos villanos, donde los dejo, y que pasara después”
“ Umbrella Acdemy” ha sido reconocida por su creativa manera de contar la historia, y el conjunto irreal de elementos que tiene, pero la historia de Way despliega una lógica interna muy fuerte que incluso une las parte mas extrañas en una.”Pienso que definitivamente hay una lógica en como esto se maneja”, dijo el escritor. “Se ha convertido en algo donde yo tengo que llamar a Scott (Allie, editor de las series) y tengo que ir a el para contarle como las cosas van a terminar, y como las historia va a continuar. Y en muchas ocasiones he notado cuento en una situación, en una conversación, en cómo solucionar un problema hay realmente una -‘Umbrella Academy”solution-. Entonces hay cosas en las que creo podemos seguir y otras que tenemos guardadas para la continuación de los libros. Y es lo que realmente me gusta de “Umbrella Academy”, y la cual es una de las razones por la que la cree. Un viaje por el tiempo, significa que deberás estar sentado por meses tratando de razonar acerca de esto, finalmente, esto nunca va a tener sentido de la forma que tu quieres. Lo bueno de ‘Umbrella Academy” es que no atrae a el estilo de lector que no se va a quedar sentado buscando los grandes huecos de información en la línea del tiempo. Por eso el viaje en el tiempo no es el punto. El punto es que los personajes lleguen a algún lugar, el hecho de que ellos estén y que estén haciendo. Cuando todo esto ese dicho y hecho, pienso que todo encajará muy bien. Pero no creo mucho en la línea del tiempo, si tu le das una fecha a cada flash back, si hay huecos en ellos, no creo que importe mucho como lo hace lo que realmente pasa cuando lo estás viendo. Pienso que vamos a conseguir un nuevo “perro” (**literalmente "we're going to re-cast the dog” **), por ejemplo. Yo quiero usar el perro de Gabriel, que tiene en Brasil. Cuando tuvimos la idea del perro nunca pensamos en usar el perro de Gabriel. Cuando estas lidiando con “the Umbrella Academy”, puedes simplemente conseguir algo nuevo. ‘Oh! Me gusta este perro, ok volvámoslo a hacer!’ No mencionaremos el hecho de que luce como un perro totalmente diferente!”.
“Estoy muy excitado acerca de los dos libros. Y ahora voy con “Hotel Oblivion” y el hecho de que ya hemos pasado dos series. La serie uno fue, como ya saben: ¿Puede esta persona escribir comics?, y la segunda fue: ¿Puede esta persona seguir escribiendo comics? .Espero esta vez que la serie tres sea algo como: ¿Qué va a pasar esta vez en el comic!? Eso es lo que me tiene muy entusiasmado. La serie dos de ‘Umbrella Academy’ estaba empezando a perfeccionar lo que realmente era el libro. La serie uno fue más como una historia lineal, incluso cuando fue contada con algunos extraños flashbacks. Pero las serie dos fue más inspiradora. Hubo mas inventiva, hubo más desarrollo de lo que pasara con los personajes, algunas veces simplemente ves a un personaje sentado, ese caso de momentos introspectivos. Si es algo, puedes pensar en ver más de eso. Este libro va a ir realmente hacia lo introspectivo, un poco más postmoderno, un poco mas inventivo, en una manera muy excitante. Un poco más experimental es lo que van a ver en lo que se viene en la serie tres de ‘Umbrella Academy’ ”.

Segun PEOPLE.COM Bob Bryar ha empezado un proceso legal en contra del el entrenador de su mascota Dixie, una pastora almenan cruzada, quien desde Abril empezo el entrenamiento.

El baterista de la banda de rock MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, demando a el entrenador de perros, despues que la amada pastora Aleman del musico muriera en el "cuidado" del entrenador- y fueran regresados unicamente los restos cremados del animal, esto acorde con documentos de la corte.

En una rara ley en la corte superior de Burbank, Bob Bryar alega rompimiento de contrato, fraude, negligencia y daño emocional intencionado en contra de Daniel Schaffer, descrito en la accion con el se proclamaba a si mismo "entrenador de perros par a las estrellas".

"No se nisiquiera que fue lo que le paso a mi mejor amiga y la extraño mas que nada en el mundo", dijo Bob Bryar a PEOPLE. "El dolor que siento esta mas alla que las palabras"

Bryar dice que gasto $7500 dolares (1750000 pesos colombianos) en Abril para enviar a su perra Dixie -"La cosa mas importante en su vida", a la perrera de Scahffer para un entrenamiento intensivo que la ayudara a superar su fragilidad emocional, ya que antes de ser rescatada sufria abusos.

Cerca de una semana, cuando se le dijo previamente a Bryar que la perra habia tenido una semana "espectacular y disfrutando todo el dia", Schaffer reporto que Dixie habia muerto cuando un conductor borracho choco su vehiculo con el vehiculo en donde Schaffer transportaba a Dixie y otros perros.

El caso dice, que mas tarde "Schaffer llamo a Bryar denuevo, informandolo que no podria decirle adios a Dixie porque ella habia sido "cremada por su condicion". Dos dias despues, el entrenador "envio una urna que contenia los restos de Dixie". Como Schaffer fallo en producir un reporte policial documentando el accidente, el cambio su historia y dijo que Dixie murio mientras dormia, luego cambio la historia diciendo que murio bajo otras circustancias.

Schaffer no ha respondido los mensajes en busca de un comentario. Y no ha habido respuesta en contra de la accion legal que empezo Bryar.

Entrevista revista Rockin On de Japón en la cual se hablaba de Kyosuke Himuro. Aqui las partes que se refieren a Gerard Way y MCR.

¿Qué te mueve -musicalmente hablando- por estos tiempos?
Gerard Way: Recientemente me gusta mucho el nuevo álbum de Glasvegas, creo que son una banda grandiosa, asi que estoy entusiasmado por ellos, y estoy esperando el nuevo disco de Mew, Rich Costly lo está produciendo y también produjo el disco de Glasvegas…y también estoy escuchando mucho del material viejo de The Stooges, los viejos albums de Damned, cosas realmente punk, me gustan los artistas con presentaciones bien locas, y esa es la dirección que tratamos de tomar para el nuevo álbum.

¿Qué tipo de emociones te rodean hoy en día?
Mucha emoción, de verdad, no tengo problemas con nadie, no tengo ningún problema, básicamente estoy muy felíz, pero está este tipo de entusiasmo imprudente con lo que podemos hacer con la música y por eso estamos todos entusiasmados.

- Ellos comenzaron a trabajar en nuevas canciones desde Octubre del 2008, luego de las grabaciones de Desolation Row en New York.

¿Qué pasó con las ‘nuevas canciones’ que escuchamos en el DVD de ‘The black parade is dead!’?
Esa es una buena pregunta. No lo sé! (Risas). Tendremos que ver que pasa. Ni siquiera las hemos tocado, en lo que hemos estado trabajando son canciones completamente distintas, asi que de verdad no hemos analizado eso.

- Él nunca quizo ser un artista solitario pero quiere mantenerse escribiendo canciones para otras personas por que piensa que es una cosa saludable de hacer y algunas de sus canciones favoritas son esas que fueron escritas por sus artistas favoritos para otras personas, como “All the Young dude” escrita por David Bowie para Mott The Hoople.

- En en momento de esta entrevista, el productor no había sido confirmado aun, pero él dijo que estaban conversando con Brendan O’Brien y si ellos pudieran trabajar con él en el nuevo álbum sería de manera muy rápida por que Brendan es conocido por su trabajo rápido, y eso es lo que quieren por estos tiempos, especialmente luego de un largo y duro trabajo que se hizo por el Black Parade.

- Él dijo que no podía decir si tocarían nuevas canciones en el Summer Sonic, que no estaba seguro, pero si dijo que la próxima vez que toquen en vivo sería cuando presentaran nuevas canciones.

Lo anunció el miércoles por la noche via su propio Twitter a amigos y familia, y ayer jueves, al resto del mundo.

Junto a su mujer, Lindsay Ann Ballato, o Lyn-Z, la bajista de los demenciales Mindless Self Indulgence, con quien se casó en el backstage de en un concierto en Denver en 2007, Gerard fue padre por primera vez: una niña, Bandit Lee Way, de casi tres kilos de peso, en Los Angeles.

Alicia, hermana de Gerard, dice cual tía orgullosa: "Es la cosa más hermosa del mundo."

Primero...aqui algo de info de lo que van a encontrar en el comic

The Umbrella Academy es una historieta de tomos limitados escrita por Gerard Way, el cantante de la banda My Chemical Romance. El cómic presenta los dibujos de Gabriel Bá, la portada por James Jean, los colores por Dave Stewart y las letras por Blambot's Nate Piekos. Los 6 tomos, son lanzados por Dark Horse Comics. El primer tomo fue lanzado el 19 de septiembre del 2007.

Será llevada al cine por Universal Pictures.

Historia principal

The Umbrella Academy narra la vida de un grupo de superhéroes adoptados por un inventor llamado Reginald Hargreeves. La historia se centra en los conflictos que existían en el grupo desde el principio, basándose en la vida de Vanya Hargreeves (00.07), en la rivalidad entre Diego (00.02) y Luther (00.01), y en cómo la Academia fue preparada desde la infancia para acabar con una amenaza que trataría de destruir el mundo, sin imaginarse que esa amenaza era su propia hermana.

GB: ¿Qué sabes sobre el calendario de la película?

Way: "He escuchado 2010 y 2011. Creo que el 2010 es el gran año de Marvel, ¿verdad? Entonces quizás el 2011. No como si ésta fuese a ser como esas películas, en serio. Dije, mientras iba a las reuniones, que esta película tenía que ser muy progresiva. No puede ser simplemente la oportunidad para un videojuego. En la forma en que 'The Dark Knight' (El caballero de la noche) puso sus propias reglas, tiene que tener su propia energía. Uno de los nombres en el que estaba realmente interesado en lo que concierne a guionistas era Diablo Cody. Creo que es una elección inesperada. Todo sobre este libro ha sido hacer decisiones poco obvias.

Y mientras....para lo que les guste THE WATCHMEN comic que recientemente tubo una adaptacion al cine, en al cual My chemical romance, participó con el cover de "Desolation Row"....

Warner, lanzara en julio el DVD...

Warner Home Video is preparing the superhero epic Watchmen for home video release July 21 (prebook June 9), the week of San Diego Comic-Con International.

The film will be available in three configurations: a bare-bones single-DVD edition at $28.99, a two-DVD special edition at $34.99 and a two-disc Blu-ray version at $35.99.

The DVD and Blu-ray special editions will include a director’s cut of the movie with 25 additional minutes; the featurette “The Phenomenon: The Comic That Changed Comics”; 11 making-of webisodes; and a music video for My Chemical Romance’s “Desolation Row.”

The film earned $107.3 million at the domestic box office.

Warner in March released two Watchmen tie-in videos on DVD and Blu-ray: Tales of the Black Freighter and Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic.

* GERARD WAY ES ENTREVISTADO POR REVOLVER MAGAZINE:
- ¿Por qué la fijación en la mortalidad?

Gerard: "Traté de permanecer como un chico por mucho tiempo, y creo que estoy más alla de eso y quiero lidiar con esta real mierda. Ahora hay tanta muerte en mi vida que ya se hizo algo constante. Si no hay alguien muriendo, hay alguien en un hospital. Creo que vengo de una familia muy dañada, y es algo que tengo que aceptar. Y un día será mi turno".

¿Tienen algún plan para este nuevo disco, y ya han comenzado a escribir alguna canción?
Frank: "Nos reunimos recientemente en octubre para terminar de grabar una canción, la cual formará parte de la banda sonora del film 'Watchmen'. Esto sucedió en New York, en donde mezclamos y masterizamos la canción. Todo lo que deseamos hacer ahora es estar juntos y comenzar a escribir nuevamente. Por el momento, estamos esperando a ver si Bob [baterista de la banda, quien ha sufrido una cirugía en ambas muñecas] se mejore y esté al 100% para tocar otra vez".

¿Aún no se ha recuperado completamente del problema en sus muñecas?
"Lo que tienes que saber sobre Bob es que aún si no estuviera del todo bien, él sería capaz de decir lo contrario para volver a tocar. Es muy importante para nosotros que él este bien, sino no podríamos tocar nuevamente. Nada es más importante que la salud de un miembro. Entonces, primero queremos asegurarnos que no se lastimará - o hará algo peor - otra vez".

Hace un año, Gerard Way, prometió un sonido más punk, con una sensación de estar tocándolo en vivo. ¿Piensas que en su comentario hay algo cierto, en cuanto a la dirección que el sonido del disco pueda tomar?
"No tengo idea, hombre. Es muy temprano para asegurarlo. Lo único que sé con seguridad es que cada uno de nosotros tiene en su casa una grabadora y diferentes programas en nuestras computadoras, sobre las cuales grabamos cada cosa que se nos venga a la mente. Ray [guitarrista] tiene una tonelada de cintas para grabar y yo también tengo muchísimas, entonces tenemos muchas ideas".

¿Organizan todo por adelantado, o la música toma su propia dirección una vez que comienzan a escribir juntos?
"Es tan raro. Si te dijera que pensé que The Black Parade habría tenido un sonido muy similar a cuando recién comenzamos a escribirlo, despúes podría haberte dicho algo completamente diferente a cómo quedó el sonido final del disco. Básicamente, todo lo que te diga ahora significa lo contrario a lo que sucederá!"

Hablando nuevamente de The Black Parade, Mikey Way tuvo muchos problemas y hubo algunos períodos sombríos durante la grabación. ¿Cuál es el estado de ánimo de My Chemical Romance en estos momentos?
"Cada uno de nosotros nos sentimos muy positivos, y estamos relajados gracias a estar en nuestro descanso. El hecho de estar viajando constantemente es la parte dura de nuestro trabajo, pero tocar en shows y escribir música - en lo que a mí me concierne - es lo que cuenta. Así que, regresar a todo eso es muy exitante. Estamos emocionados sobre las posibilidades de lo que podría suceder".

¿Cuán necesario ha sido el descanso que se han tomado durante la mayor parte del 2008?
"Definitivamente lo necesitábamos. Si nadie no nos hubiera dicho que nos tomáramos ese descanso, probablemente en este momento todavía estaríamos sobre los escenarios. Nosotros seguiríamos tocando en conciertos con el sol sobre nuestros cuerpos, porque amamos hacerlo. Pero está bien dar un paso atrás y evaluar ambas cosas, tanto lo que tú has hecho, como lo que quisiste hacer pero no lo lograste. Además, uno también debería mirar todo lo que nos ha sucedido con nuestro último disco - lo cual es importante porque tuvimos tan mala suerte con los problemas de salud, lastimaduras, y miembros de nuestras familas que iban falleciendo. El baterista original del grupo de rock My Chemical Romance, dice que la banda lo engañó con los derechos del primer albúm y no mostrarlo en los libros. Matthew Pelissier demandó a sus ex-compañeros de banda y a Eyeball Records, que distribuyó el primer
album de la banda, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love.

Pelissier dijo que no ha recibido pago por su trabajo en el álbum desde octubre del 2004, un mes después de dejar la banda. De acuerdo a Nielsen SoundScan, se han vendido más de 285.000 copias del disco hasta enero pasado.
Pelissier dice que cuando él dejó la banda se le garantizó un 20% de los intereses totales de las ventas. Matt afirma que la cláusula indica que 'no tendrá ninguna intervención directa o la inspección contra Eyeball o cualquier tercero' es lo 'inválido' en todo esto.

También demandó a los miembros de la banda, Gerard Way, Raymond Toro, Frank Iero, Michael Way y la banda en sí misma.

Pelissier dice también que Eyeball le debe a la banda derechos adicionales por las ventas digitales de las canciones y videos vendidos a través de iTunes, que no eran parte del acuerdo original. Su abogado representante es Nicholas Schillaci de Paterson, New Jersey.

Pelissier demanda que él no ha recibido los derechos que se le deben, incluídos los del disco debut de la banda, 'I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love'. La queja indica que el álbum ha vendido más de 285.000 copias en distribuidores al por menor - de acuerdo a Nielsen SoundScan - e incluso algunas copias más, vía iTunes.

Sin embargo, el acuerdo del 2005 también no le otorga a Pelissier ningún derecho de revisar o examinar los libros de Eyeball. El pleito demanda que eéta disposición es inválida o inejecutable.
Esto pone a Pelissier en una posición resistente: El tratar de cumplir la validéz de una porción del contrato y rendir otra parte como ilegal. Esta es la vida de un baterista.

It started on Saturday, April 4th at about 5:30 AM. Fans of Gerard Way, the lead singer of the rock band My Chemical Romance and creator of the Eisner Award Winning Umbrella Academy comic book series, began lining up outside our store at the Universal Citywalk in California. The morning was crisp and cool and you could feel a twinge of excitement in the air.

Anticipation built throughout the morning as fans discussed their favorite MCR songs, the ways Gerard’s art had changed their lives and their favorite moments from the Umbrella Academy. The energy in the crowd reached a crescendo when Way arrived just before noon to begin the signing.

In a town full of movie stars and music legends, you would think that people have grown accustomed to their famous neighbors and that a signing at a comic book shop wouldn’t garner much attention. You would be wrong.

Fansites like mychemicalfreak.com and mcrime.net picked up on the signing just after it was announced and some fans drove more than two hours for their chance to greet their favorite artist and get their favorite piece signed.

People brought records, t-shirts, comics, and even umbrellas for Way to sign (his hit comic book series is called the Umbrella Academy, after all), and some fans even brought him gifts. At one point, a couple dozen fans in line outside the door started singing one of his songs.

The event was spectacular and Way was gracious enough to stay a little longer than planned so he could see a few more fans. All of us here at Things From Another World and TFAW.com would like to express our deepest thanks to Gerard for taking time out of his busy schedule to come out to our shop. We would also like to thank all those who stood in line for hours and helped make this a great event.

Mark Bomback is getting out his parasol for "The Umbrella Academy."

The scribe has been tapped to adapt the Dark Horse comic created by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way and set up at Universal. Dark Horse's Mike Richardson is producing.

The Umbrella Academy is a group of disbanded superheroes who reunite after the death of their adoptive father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, an alien disguised as a wealthy entrepreneur. Hargreeves collected the members of the group shortly after their birth and trained them to save the world, and after his death, they carry on his plan.

The comic first came out as a six-issue miniseries in 2007, winning an Eisner Award to the surprise of many. A second miniseries is being published.

Bomback's writing credits include the DC Comics adaptation "Constantine," "Live Free or Die Hard" and "Race to Witch Mountain." Repped by Endeavor and Anonymous Content, the scribe is working on "Jack the Giant Killer" at New Line

Gerard Way cantante de My Chemical Romance y el ganador de un Eisner Gabriel Bá, nos presentan a este insólito grupo. En palabras del Grant Morrison, son los superhéroes del siglo XXI.
En un año insólito para la humanidad nacieron 43 niños “extraordinarios”.

Todos de madres solteras, sin aparentes muestras de embarazo y en los lugares más extraños.
Solo 7 de esos niños fueron salvados de su fatal destino y educados por el magnate Sir Reginal Hargreeves para controlar sus bizarros poderes, ¿por qué?

Para salvar el mundo, dijo...

Y tras leerse uno este refrescante comic, parece ser que va a ser que si.
Las maquinas del marketing funcionaron a todo trapo con esta obra, por aquello de que el guionista, Gerard Way, es el cantante de My Chemical Romance y tal.
Y que quieres que te diga, eso da igual.

Como ya he dicho refrescante, simpaticote y divertidisimo comic, en el que en este numero uno , asistimos a una suerte de presentación, mientras nos muestran las bases de lo que va a ser esto.
Tenemos a los lapices a un estupendo dibujante como es Gabriel Ba , que logra darle un estilo propio al asunto, rebosante del dinamismo que exige la cosa.

Y es que estamos ante una familia que hace de la disfuncionalidad su elemento mas caracteristico, ya que esta formada por los mencionados niños, el mencionado padre adoptivo, un doctor que no te esperas, el guardaespaldas, y una madre que te esperas menos.

Con un ritmo endiablado, y con el peculiar y personal look que imprimen los autores, nos llevan,en un minitomito que comprende dos grapillas originales, del pasado al presente, pasando por el futuro, para que conozcamos, en un magnífico ejercicio de simplicidad narrativa, a todos los extraños niños y familia, viendo sus motivaciones, su personalidad y sus miedos, bajo la sempiterna dureza del trato que les da su padre adoptivo, dejando todo desarrollado y por desarrollar, en unas paginas deliciosamente alucinogenas por momentos.

Y por supuesto, con el fin del mundo de trasfondo, y a trabajar, que hay que evitarlo.
Una enorme sorpresa, que deja con ganas de mas cuando te la has zampado en un pis pas.

My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way is using his band's website to buy a new car.

The singer originally began his quest on Twitter explaining that he was looking for a "1979 Pontiac Trans Am" and was open to offers.

He then stepped things up on Mychemicalromance.com/, detailing the kinds of vehicle he is after.

"Some of you, who have seen my Twitter about wanting a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, may be asking yourselves, "Is this for real?" he wrote. "And my answer to you is one-hundred percent MFR ('Mad Fucking Real' for short).
Some of you may be asking, 'Why?', so I provided this photograph to answer your questions, and if you need further persuasion- Quite simply, I need the vehicle for 'research and exploration'.

"I will be researching the high-voltage hydra known as the 9th dimension , I will be exploring the barriers of speed and time, the history of heavy-metal haircuts, and the 24-Hr rest-stop cappuccino. I will be chasing the 'electric-manticore', and unlocking the riddle of 'Muscle Mystery' in this muscle-machine, and it will most likely occur in the desert.

"Now that I've assuaged your curiosity, here's what I'm looking for, more or less, and some might think I'm picky, but I think you should be picky when looking for such an important piece of scientific equipment."

Way then detailed what he's after, explaining that although his dad was a mechanic, he does not know that much about cars himself.

"I would like 'the fast engine' to show you how much I know about cars," he said. "I want it to run, run well, and have no rust. Oh and it needs to be an automatic, as I can't drive stick (surprise!)."

Ideally the singer is after a silver car, but will consider blue, black and "Shitty bombed-out Red/Orange".

He concluded by stating: "No scams or hustles. I won't have cash on me, and I'm not important enough to kidnap, but if you've got the right car and the right 'vibe' I can find us someone important enough to kidnap together- IN-THE-CAR-YOU-JUST-SOLD-ME. Like, for example, the Jonas Brothers. I have been on TV and I have access. You bring the 'bird- I'm bringing 'British Steel' by Judas Priest."

Presentar grupos de culto en la escena del rock es el sello distintivo del Club 101, y una prueba viene la próxima semana con la presentación en su escenario de dos bandas de diferentes géneros y generaciones.

La primera de ellas es The Used, conocida por canciones como Take it away, In love and death, Let it bleed, The taste of ink, Burned myself alone y el cover de la famosa Under pressure de Queen, que grabaron junto a My Chemical Romance.

La banda estará el 23 de marzo presentando en El Paso su última producción Shallow believer, lanzada en el 2008 con todos sus integrantes: Bert McCracken (voz, teclado, piano y trompeta); Jeph Howard (bajo, coros); Quinn Allman (guitarra, coros), y Dan Whitesides (batería).

El 25 de marzo, el guitarrista de los 70’s Michael Schenker y su grupo subirán al escenario para recordar los tiempos del heavy metal y el hard rock.

I'm not sure there has ever been a uniquely singular comic book world as well realized and captivating as what Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba have created in "The Umbrella Academy." The first analogue most would probably bring up would be The Doom Patrol, but even that was hooked into the DC Universe on at least some level and the Grant Morrison version was still firmly planted in this America, if a slightly stranger one. But "The Umbrella Academy" not only exists in a much odder plane, every new detail fits in perfectly.

For example, this issue delves into the guild of time hopping assassins that, naturally, Number Five worked for for decades before reappearing as his childhood self. This issue serves as a bit of a set up, but as for exactly what is being set up, that's a bit unclear. We know that the Academy is split into two factions. Spaceboy, Kraken, Seance, and Spaceboy are trying to find a way back in time, while No. 5 and The Rumor is in the strange pocket headquarters of the Temps Aeternalis. While this issue might be a bit light on action, it's never falters on its page-to-page promise of totally gorgeous absurdity. But somehow it all hands together. The opening dream sequence, in which the color takes a dramatic shift into pastel (kudos to Dave Stewart), has the unenviable duty of illustrating what exactly would be considered surreal in a world as off-register as this one. But it does so wonderfully.

Gabriel Ba has always been a consistently unique and fantastic artist, and nothing has changed about that in this issue. He's taking cover duties by the horns, though, with one of the best covers of the year so far in both concept and execution. Dave Stewart continues to evolve the particular style he's been utilizing for this book and seeing it branch out in new directions in the opening dream sequence is a real treat.

Gerard Way has somehow, over the course of ten issues now, continued to expand upon the strange world he introduced in this series, all the while never adding a piece that appears out of place. It's been said many times before, but every new issue just accentuates the improbability that a book like this would come from someone who's, basically, just working a second part time job.

"The Umbrella Academy: Dallas" strikes a much quieter tone than its predecessor. It's somber, meditative, and gritty. That is, until the last page, and all that is overturned in an instant. This issue has a hell of an ending, and there's still two more to go.

Leathermouth :Fighting Back At The World With Hardcore Fury

Almost five years in the making, LeATHERMØUTH is a straight-up hardcore band born and raised somewhere in New Jersey (or possibly Europe.) The group’s hard-hitting first album XØ (released through Epitaph Records) has received respectable reviews (and a couple of bitter comparisons to Motorhead.) [Read Rich Quinlan’s review here.] This is a project that no one seems to know quite what to make of, which naturally intrigues us. Besides the name recognition of frontman Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance, it also features one of my favorite new guitar players, Rob Hughes, and a touring lineup to die for. So we asked Frank to spare a moment or two from an L.A. recording session for the next MCR album, which he was nice enough to do (eventually.)

Q: Hey Frank, it’s Deb from Jersey Beat, how are you?

F: Hey Deb, I gotta tell you: I really want to thank you; I know it’s been hell getting in touch with me for this interview.

Q: No, it’s all right, I appreciate that you’re in the studio and I guess there was a communication issue, so it’s fine. I appreciate your time, too – you’re taking time out of what you’re doing.

F: No absolutely. That’s the thing; we just got here a couple of days ago, and we’re just getting a feel yet of what the record is going to be like, and stuff like that, so it’s really just fleshing out like a couple of songs here and there. I’m really getting into the stride now, so…

Q: I checked; it’s exactly the same temperature this week in Los Angeles as it is in New York City – good plan, there!

F: Yeah, every time we’re in Los Angeles, the weather is always horrible, so it’s not weird for us when we get here. It actually just today lightened up – it’s very nice today.

Q: Oh, that’s a good thing! It’s not nice here.

F: Yeah the thing is we really spend our days just locked in the studio, so I haven’t really been outside that much.

Q: Oh, some palm trees, whatever…!

F: Yeah, I haven’t even been out of the room.

Q: Yeah, well that’s a good thing, actually, being locked up and recording is certainly better than being outside and standing in the windy weather. Okay, so this LeATHERMØUTH project took five years to come to fruition - how different is the finished product from what you started out with?

F: Insanely different! When we first started, the only recordings we really had were just from a practice studio in Jersey and then…well I guess maybe it’s not that different because now it’s just a live version of us playing in my basement (we both laugh.) We actually had time to craft the songs - a lot of that was done when I would come off the road for a week or two here and there. We’d be like “Oh, let’s try this one a little bit different.” I had the recordings for a while without lyrics and vocals – I would just sit on it while touring, and when I would finally come home, that’s when I’d record in my basement.

Q: You had two songs at the time, correct?

F: Yeah, we started with the two that were live recordings from the rehearsal studio, and we called it “Live In Spain.” It was “Murder Was the Case They Gave Me” and - at that time it was called “What’s a Pulse Got Ta Do With it?” - which ended up being “Bodysnatchers 4Ever.”

Q: Right, I remember when it was called that, actually. That’s not at all confusing, right? “Oh, it’s a completely different song!”

F: (laughing) I didn’t want to steal too many titles! I didn’t want to keep that going.

Q: Right! (laughing) Well, I know that you've stated that this is the first project where you've actually been responsible for all of the lyrics, but you've done a few here and there for other projects, right?

F: Yeah, you know, mostly ideas and stuff like that – I mean never like full verses or whole songs by any means. It was maybe a line here or there or just an idea.

Q: Mm hm. Does this sole responsibility change what you feel you are able to say?

F: Well…I don’t know if it would if I knew that the record was going to come out. See, originally, I thought I was just going to do it anonymously, so when writing for that, I didn’t care too much. I think for the next record, when everyone will know already, it may. I don’t really know, but that’s yet to be seen - I hope not, though. I’d like LeATHERMØUTH to just be what it is, and just promote people – and I think to promote people, you need to just be uncensored.

Q: Oh, I agree – I don’t think there would be much logic to a hardcore band that’s censored.

F: No, I mean like censoring your thoughts or the different things that you would talk about.

Q: Mm hm – I don’t think any artist should have to do that, actually. That’s kinda not the point of living in this country – I’m so against censorship. This is the first project where you've not contributed instrumentally, right? Is that a weird shift to make for you as a guitar player?

F: Yeah, but I think it helped me vocally, because I definitely did things I wouldn’t normally have thought of, you know? Taking such a step back from that, it kept me in an open mind.

Q: Fair enough. Everyone gets asked about the song or band that made them want to play - do you have one that made you completely reconsider the business?

F: No…even the rough spots, when you see things that make you want to give everything up, you kinda take a step back and realize that’s not why you’re doing it. You’d like to think that you would be in a band even if there were no other bands out there, or any kind of music - like you would be creating even if you were just drumming on a rock. That’s the thing; I think it’s just a necessity that I have. I have to play music, I have to create or write just to stay sane – so other people’s actions really can’t dictate how I feel towards that.

Q: That’s a great answer, actually. So, the video for “Bodysnatchers 4Ever” is due out I guess today – can you tell us anything about it? (Writer’s note: At press time, the video had not yet been released to the public.)

F: Yeah! Well, really, it keeps in the style with doing everything ourselves. It orignally started as: I wanted to make a film that would go along with the record, so I went to my friend, Dane Castoro. He kind of blows me away with his talent in editing and directing - he makes short films on his own. So, we got together in my basement and backyard and started to come up with concepts for the movie. Because of time constraints and just lack of…coincidences, I think, we couldn’t finish the movie in time for the record to come out.

So, what I did was, I kinda cut out pieces from the twenty minute film and did a video out of it – so it’s highly edited. I think the storyline is very blurred right now, but hopefully in maybe another time we can finish the film and the story will actually be seen – but it’s really just a nightmare sequence. There were four people really involved – me, Dane, his girlfriend and another friend, and we just kinda sat around and filmed stuff. I’m really happy with the way it came out – it took a long time to edit it and do a lot of stuff and post. We really wanted to go for this feel where these tapes were found and let the viewer kinda interpret things about it. I’m really proud of it – I’ve never directed anything; I’ve never done anything with films before, and I’ve always wanted to. But this is my first attempt at it, so I hope it works out.

Q: Was it a weird shift to make for you or did you like totally embrace it?

F: Well, the technical side was the problem, and that’s where Dane came in so amazingly. I didn’t know shit about how to film or how to edit things; I used all his knowledge for that – that made it a lot easier.

Q: Mm hm – I’ve seen the sneak peak; it’s really interesting. It reminds me of an old-time silent movie; it’s a really cool effect.

F: Yeah, that’s what we were kinda going for.

Q: It’s awesome. What's the symbolism, by the way, behind you always being the one killed in the press photos?

F: (laughing) Well, I told Epitaph I didn’t want do press photos where my face was being seen so much – there were a few got out there that kinda weren’t supposed to be released. But I said that I would only show my face if I could have it smashed. So that was kind of the idea that me and Jamie came up with.

Q: (laughing) Oh, that’s awesome! So, you've listed the lyrics to "Leviathan" as EVP - so you're saying it was written by the dead?

F: Um, it’s more of a lend to channeling things that are around you and being almost a medium for that – and also having a breakdown as well. There’s a small sequence of lyrics that I do go back to, and they are kind of set, but for the most part, I like it to change every time. It’ll change depending on, based on everything – where I am at that point in time, what happened in my day; it’s just an open-ended thing, where I’m feeling things inside and channeling that.

Q: Ah, that’s interesting, so basically no one’s ever hearing the same song twice.

F: Right.

Q: That’s cool. Um, most hardcore band moment you've witnessed so far?

F: Hm, oh man…

Q: Come on, you have to have a good story!

F: It’s really, I mean, to me, the most hardcore moments are doing it – like traveling with no means…(chuckles) This is one of my favorite experiences: we had a show up on Long Island – this wasn’t with LeATHERMØUTH, this was with another band I was in – our van broke down just in the middle of the LIE and we had to push it to the side. So, it was either get it towed home – because we had like two miles left on one person’s AAA card – or get it towed to the show and then just figure it out. So we towed it to the show, played the show – and not all of us could fit in the tow truck, so some of us had to hide in the back of the van with the equipment. So we kind of hung out inside until the thing came, and I think we got home at like 10:00 in the morning, because he cops had to…I don’t know, we had to like finagle something to get home. To me, that was the biggest hardcore moment.

Q: (laughing) That’s definitely hardcore – that’s like trying to sneak out of another country illegally!

F: Yeah, you do or die!

Q: I guess anybody that went to that show had to go “Look what these people did just to get here, I mean, come on!”

F: (laughing) Yeah, that was a kind of funny moment, when the broken-down van pulls up behind this like sirened tow truck and then it gets lowered – we’ve gotta get out of the tow truck – and as soon the tow truck leaves, you kind of sneak the guys out of the back that weren’t supposed to be in the back with the equipment, so…

Q: (laughing) I’m not here, I’m just walking behind this amp!

F: Exactly!

Q: You've done lot of shows now already, with this band – what’s your favorite moment so far?

F: I like it when people obviously don’t get it, and are visibly annoyed (we both laugh) – those are some of my favorite moments. But, we’ve been fortunate enough that a lot of people are really enjoying it, and have been coming out; whether it’s from myspace or just hearing the record.

Q: They’re singing along, so you’ve got good fans.

F: That’s a real inspiring moment, when people are singing your words back to you. I’ve been lucky enough to experience that a couple of times, and it’s really some of the best feelings I’ve ever had.

Q: That’s gotta be incredible! Um, I actually have a few more: what I wanted to ask you is: you’re touring with a different lineup than you recorded with; was that a smooth adjustment to make?

F: Um yes, but it also wasn’t really that bad – I mean with the original lineup, we’d only really played like two or three shows, and that was spread out over at least six months. And the only reason for that was that our schedules just weren’t really working together. When I would come home from tour, someone’d be like “Oh, there’s a show, do you wanna play?” I mean, there was no real demand I guess for a tour or anything at that time, because we didn’t really have any songs yet, so both shows we played were really only like six or seven song sets. So it was just getting our feet into the water, and then when the touring lineup came together, that’s when we really started to play and get together like all the songs we had.

Q: Yeah, that first show was sort of sprung on you last minute, wasn’t it, if I remember correctly? It was a last minute decision, like “Hey, can you be here in two days?”

F: Mm hm, exactly. We did like a CMJ show. We hadn’t planned on playing a show or anything, I was just like “Oh hey, I’m in town this week.” There was an opening spot on the showcase, and I got the call. I was like “Alright, let’s see if everybody can do it” and we did it.

Q: Yeah, you pulled it out – you have to roll with it sometimes.

F: Yeah, that’s the fun of the band, and also the fun behind the record – even recording some of these songs – have the sense of urgency that you get; you have that first take and you just put it out there. I think that with the recorded aspect of this band, it needed to be that way. If it was overproduced or even thought about beyond a couple of takes, it wouldn’t be the same.

Q: Yeah, you’re right – I actually was reading a little from the people that had been following this band since the beginning, and they were hoping that it wasn’t going to deviate too far from the demos; they liked that they were dirty.

F: Right, and I think that really encompasses the band –to hear it in any other way, I don’t think it would be as special.

Q: Yeah, it has to be sort of seat-of-your-pants. How long did it take to write the rest of the tracks?

F: You know, it took a lot longer because we weren’t around each other. I don’t know how long it would take if, say, we were all in a room focusing on writing the record; how long that would take or how long it would take to record. I imagine it would probably be very, very quick, and I like that about it. That’s the thing too is that I sat with the record without vocals for a long time, and when I did finally write the lyrics and sang, it didn’t take me very long to finish up the recording process; it was only maybe about a week. And then I sat on that for months – I had the record done, finished on my computer for months and months. Then finally it came to Epitaph, and we had a meeting about it, and the record came out. So, the amount of time behind this record is astronomical compared to the time put into it.

Q: Like five years, right?

F: Mm hm.

Q: Wow! And it’s twenty minutes long – so it took you five years to do twenty minutes.

F: (we both laugh.) Exactly!

Q: I like to ask this one: is there a song you would like to go out with: just a lyric that sums it up for you?

F: As far as this record is concerned, I think the one that speaks to me the most; that comes the most from private experiences - not that the rest of the record doesn’t –
but the one that speaks to me the most is “Sunsets Are For Muggings.”

Q: Mm, because it’s personal, right?

F: Yes; I don’t know if it so much sums up the band, but it definitely sums up the feeling behind this record to me. To me, it kind of comes to a head on that song, because a lot of the topics that we cover on the record are social problems. And when the social problems seem to affect you personally, that’s what “Sunsets” is about. How you’ll sometimes feel like the world is kinda crashing down around you, and you’ll go to someone that you trust – say a doctor or something like that, and all they’ll do is pump you full of meds that are supposed to make you feel normal but they just end up making you feel even worse.

Q: Yeah, or they ask you about your dreams or “How are you feeling today?”

F: I had a very strange dream last night – I don’t really know what it means, but…it was where I was in my house, at home in Jersey, and for some reason, there were little things wrong with it. Like, one of the walls was cracked a little bit, and there was something on the floor, like a floorboard coming up, or a carpet. And I would go up to the wall and try to take something, like take it out, and behind the wall, there was like this weird mirror, and behind the mirror was a body. And I would find these things all over the house, and I didn’t know what it was. It was like some sort of crime going on and the bodies were hidden in my house behind mirrors.

Q: (we both laugh) Do you think it has anything to do with the material – like you’re haunting yourself in your sleep?

F: I have no idea!

Q: Actually, a dream book would probably tell you you’re repressing something, or something like that.

F: You think so?

Q: Yeah, it’s usually never what you think it is.

F: I know, so yeah, so like if my teeth are falling out, then you’re losing money.

Q: Yeah, that means you’re losing money, or doesn’t mean you’re getting married? No, that’s when you die, right?

F: I don’t know – yeah, something like if you die, that means a rebirth, but if you’re…I don’t know; all the dream books just end up confusing me more than the actual dreams.

Q: They are confusing, yeah.

F: So um…I guess if you wanted to look into it: would it be that I felt I was hiding myself some sort of things, like kind of like the construction of the house that I’ve built, or what? I really don’t know.

Q: Wow…

F: It was kind of cool, definitely – it was a sleuth type of dream.

Q: You had to solve it.

F: I like to watch “Law and Order” till I fall asleep, so maybe that was what happened…

Q: Maybe that’s what it was – you were actually in an episode in your sleep!

F: (we both laugh) Probably. That’s a good show.

Q: “Law And Order,” wow that show’s been on like forever – isn’t it like ten years or something?

F: Oh yeah, well that’s what they do; I mean you look back now at all these like past incarnations: there was Briscoe, then there was the fat guy, I don’t know. It’s weird, like the different main character cops change the feel of the shows.

Q: I know it started with Richard Belzer, I remember that; like fifteen years ago.

F: I love the Vincent D’Onofrio, C.I., that’s fun. I like how he’s turned into a fucking crazy person.

Q: Vincent D’Onofrio’s pretty awesome, I’m gonna give you that one.

F: Yeah, I’m way into that.

Q: So is that what you watch now, you watch crime shows?

F: Yeah, well, here’s the thing, back home they had this thing called Monsters HD, which is like all horror movies all the time on one channel.

Q: Oh, awesome!

F: Yeah, it’s amazing; even shitty movies like “Night of the Creeps” or “Night of the Demons” I, II and III – things that never came out on high definition, they play on this channel in HD, and it’s great! You know, there’s no commercials – all the content is there, and for me it’s like a fucking dream come true.

Q: Really? Do they run like the Vincent Prices, like the Phibes’ and stuff?

F: Oh yeah, anything awesome like that.

Q: Oh, they do??

F: Yeah, and the thing too that in between, they’ll have a thing called “Monsterama” where they’ll just interview people like a showcase thing? They’ll have like toys; they had one on about different collectors, even a show on makeup artists, Thompson Media, etc. To me, that’s the ultimate – I love watching that kind of thing. But the company that ran the channel – they also had like a Kung Fu channel and all these other things – they went under. So now there’s no Monsters HD, so I’m fucking bummed.

Q: Oh, that sucks, Man, I was getting psyched!

F: I know! The thing was kinda ridiculous about it though is that all the movies that they do play on the channel, I happen to have, because I’m like an avid, retarded dvd movie collector. So it was just a matter of having them all at your fingertips and like going on random on the channel, which was so fun to me. But now, I actually have to get up and go put a dvd in.

Q: I know, isn’t that annoying? It’s like “Why doesn’t it work by itself, damnit?” I like my DVR; it just plays - I don’t have to get up.

F: Well, this is the thing is: what’s so great about coming together with the other guys from My Chem. Like, Bob and Ray are such huge media nerds – they’re telling me all these things I can do. Like, I can hook up a receiver to my DVR box and I can keep all my movies on some sort of server, so that I can watch them anywhere in the world. You can keep stuff on your DVR and then record it, like when you’re on tour; you can record off the tv.

Q: Dude, that’s badass!

F: I know, right? Well, normally I’m very scared of and leery of technology, but this is something exciting to me.

Q: Me too, but you’re a musician; like you gotta know more than I do; I can’t even operate a digital camera.

F: I fucking hate it though! Here’s the thing; I may know things, technology-wise, but I refuse to use any of them. I don’t know, I saw a great bumper sticker today that someone had – it says “Drum machines have no soul.”

Q: True.

F: I thought that was great. To me, that’s the thing; like in this day and age, where everything is right at your fingertips, no one actually knows anybody.

Q: That’s true.

F: At any point, you can go on the internet and search the person’s name or whatever and witness the most trying moment in that person’s life, you know, when they’re most at odds. You can see all these things on the internet – where people are just ripped apart, but no one actually knows anybody.

Q: Yeah, you’re like too intimate with people you shouldn’t know anything about.

F: Yeah, and it’s killed all the mystery to it, and I think that sucks.

Q: I know, I agree with you, like the bands in the 80’s, you didn’t know them, they didn’t want to know you – I don’t know that we should go back to that, but…

F: Yeah, but that’s not what it was about – you had the connection through their art, but as far as knowing them on a personal level, you didn’t, and I don’t think you need to.

Q: Yeah, you definitely don’t need to know like, where the dude went shopping today; that’s ridiculous.

F: (laughing) Exactly!

Q: There’s too much stalkerism; everybody’s just too addicted to reality tv, that’s just the bottom line.

F: Yes, however, I am addicted to this “Rock of Love Bus.”

Q: (giggling) Dude, that is the greatest show on television, I’m sorry!

F: I mean it’s really just like watching a train wreck; I’ve never seen…it’s just…anyway, I don’t want to get into that, I could talk for hours about it.

Q: No, we won’t discuss that, but that is a good show, I can’t lie, it is.

F: I know, but like if you think about it, that whole channel is surviving off of…okay you take someone who’s not a celebrity, and you put them on a show. They make a fucking disgusting and complete fool out of themselves…

Q: And they become a celebrity…

F: Yeah, and then they’re a celebrity and then, alright you know, then when they get totally fucked up and are on drugs, they go on Sober House and it’s this continuous vicious circle! You know, these people who aren’t celebrities, but I guess they’re just famous from tv or the internet.

Q: Yeah, that show is kinda crazy; I don’t know what the hell’s up with that – it’s like exploitation almost.

F: I know!

Q: It’s crazy shit. Well, you missed ComicCon, are you bummed?

F: I know! You know, I am bummed, because basically, all the friends that I have who were there got all my other friends from home in and I wasn’t able to share in any of the festivities; I’m really bummed out about it.

Q: It was a good ComicCon this year – lotta good shit.

F: Oh really? Man, that sucks.

Q: Yeah, you need to not be on the other side of the world when that happens.

F: I know – because I spent like months at home in Jersey, being like “I need to get out of here” because of the weather, and then when the one cool thing does happen back home, I’m here.

Q: Of course you’re not there.

F: Yeah, and it’s raining here, so…

Q: Perfect! My aunt is one of those people; she brings the rain everywhere she goes.

F: Seriously, and I hate precipitation, so I don’t know why. I think it’s just if there is a God, he’s playing fucking tricks on me.

Q: Yeah, he’s got a rain cloud over your head.

F: Probably!

Q: Alright, Frank, well thanks for your time, I’m gonna let you get back to recording now; you were generous with it.

F: Thank you!

^^Aunque esta primera no es de WATCHMEN ^^ es de Umbrella Academy

Umbrella Academy: Dallas #4- As much as I enjoy this comic (not as much as My Chemical Romance’s song in the credits of Watchmen, though; Way really wrote a great tune there), it’s getting to the point where I have no real reaction to it other than “yep, that sure is the Umbrella Academy.” It’s still enjoyable and worth reading, but it’s not eliciting the kind of response that it did during the first series.
Well, at least it wasn’t until that cliffhanger. Scott Allie may have told me to leave a chat one time, but the man has a point; all comics really should end like that.

The Young Adult Library Services Association, part of the American Library Association, has announced its 2009 Top 10 Great Graphic Novels for Teens list. Since I have three of them on hand, let's take a look:
"Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite" (Dark Horse, $17.95) started as a six-issue miniseries by newcomer Gerard Way, whose "day job" is being front man for the rock band My Chemical Romance. He may be new, but he turned in an offbeat page-turner, now collected in trade paperback.

The Umbrella Academy is a bunch of superpowered orphans adopted by an English nobleman, who is secretly a space alien. These kids' "powers" aren't really world-beaters, ranging from the esoteric (talking to the dead, time travel, probability influence) to the prosaic (gorilla-level strength, accurate knife-throwing). In other words, the seven members of the Academy (actually six; one is already dead by the time the story begins) aren't going to be tackling Magneto. They're more on the "Mystery Men" level, so it's not really a standard spandex adventure story.

3.To called Watchmen a movie, is like calling this a review. It is a misnomer. It is really an experience.

If I were to compare Watchmen to a cinemagraphic work, Watchmen falls short. There are no "groundbreaking" shots. I would even go as far as to say much of the camera technique would be boring. But I have never had any movie make me feel the way Watchmen did. It is something different. Unfortunatly, there is no way I can truly make you understand what this film did to me. This best way I can put it, is this...

If the graphic novel was meant to make me think, then the film was meant to make me feel.

Alan Moore has said that he believes all the movie industry does is feed us worms. In the end, he will most likely say this film is just more worms. But they are the best tasting worms I have EVER had, and I cannot wait for a second helping.

If I had to absolutley compare the film to the graphic novel, I believe it would be blasphemous to what it really is. I will say, there is the same irony, the same little "wow" moments, the same cynisism. It is captured beautifully, some scenes may be better than the novel.

As a film, the music is amazing. The placment of the peices range from everything from ironic to romantic. And I know there has been much debate about the song at the credits, but I think it is an excellent statement. When Desolation Row was originally written, it was a poetic statement of the times. It was performed by an artist who could argueably be considered a figurehead that culture. The song was an expression of the irony and abstraction in the world, and here, at the end of this film, we have that same song expressing an alternate time, but the same society. However now it is being performed by a band that reflects our culture now. You do not have to be a fan of My Chemical Romance (lord knows I'm not), Bob Dylan, or Desolation Row, but placing that song at the end is a stamp, a signature. No, not everyone will understand Watchmen as we do, but it is ours, and as much as we would love to see the world take what we take from it, we can still be proud of what it means to us.

4. + REVIEWS DE WATCHMEN ^^ (ESTA VES LES FUE BN 9.5 SEGUN 411MANIA)

The 411: Watchmen takes what many called "unfilmable" and turns it into an epic superhero tale. Zack Snyder translates the beloved graphic novel and makes a masterpiece of a comic book movie. Like it's source material, it's unflinching, uncompromising and beautiful. Snyder also includes the appropriate social commentary, action sequences and everything worthy of it's R-rating in order to please both fans and non-fans alike. For my money, Watchmen is an instant classic.

Final Score: 9.5 [ Amazing ] legend

Watchmen: Ocular Penetration

Does Synder use the graphic novel as the sole source for the film or just as a platform for the film to take off from?

I am a watchmen junkie. I have read the graphic novel multiple times and have been watching the Watchmen: Motion Comic religiously. So I had my bases covered when going into the advanced screening for the film. In the end, I left the screening re-playing scenes in my head, thinking about certain bits of dialogue re-arranged, as well as being left puzzled in the wake of the film and most importantly, I was left wanting more. But, isn't that a good thing?

Did I attend the movie with my graphic novel in hand? Yes. Did I try to go page to page, chapter to chapter during the film? Well, I tried in the beginning. Not that everyone should, I felt I wanted to see how Synder would be pacing the film. A pace that turns out to be going by fast.

To say the least, Synder left little room to be bored with. Moving quickly through the chapters of the graphic novel, I felt that he was able to capture the constant movement from the novel, the type of movement that keeps you from turning each page in anticipation. But does the film move to quickly for the unexpecting and for those not familiar with the novel? Yes. Is that entirely
a bad thing? No, not by any means. However, will audiences hate the film because of these reasons? Again, I don't believe so, it will only make them want to see the film again and again in order to be in the know-how.

Focusing on the adaption of the novel to the film, we can't write the film off as it is now as either a success or a failure. Obviously, the studio exec's made Synder trim down the film to what we view it as currently, omitting the novels slow detective build up for a visual overload in the film. However, I believe it works great for the Watchmen.

The extended action scenes are way badass. No other way to describe it, Synder is all over that. Well done Zack.

The Comedian and Rorschach are both amazing. The actors truly became there characters. Silk Spectre II and Nite Owl II are everything you could ask for in the film. Dr.Manhattan voice shouldn't be so...human, but I understand why it isn't as cool sounding as it is in the Motion Comic. And in the end, Matthew Goode truly becomes Ozymandias. When the climatic fight scene at the end begins, with Nite Owl II and Rorschach fighting Ozy at the same time, there should be a true moment of happiness for any fan boy. Adrian Veidt is born on the silver screen.

Lastly, the soundtrack. Truly, the weakest part of the film. Thanks Tyler Bates for [frick]ing this one up. Soundtracks can make or break a film and while even Tyler Bates shitty attempt at the soundtrack doesn't ruin the film, it makes for obvious criticism. The original score is done quite nicely, especially when Manhattan gets to Mars. Pure cinematic heaven. Yet, the soundtrack with songs from Bob Dylan, KC & The Sunshine, Billie Holiday, Hendrix, Garfunkel and Nina Simone make the film more enjoyable, capturing the essence of the time periods throughout the film, the awkward Ride of the Valkyries during the Vietnam scenes make it feel way out of place. This isn't Apocalypse Now and it should've became one of the films centerpieces. I wasn't even taken that back with Leonard Cohens Hallelujah, it actually proved a nice break from the films relentless ongoings.

The there is the climatic ending and then the credits. Wanting to sit there and think about this great film was cut short by being blasted with the worst closing credits song ever, provided nonetheless by My Chemical Romance with the worst rendition of Desolation Row ever. [frick]ing horrendous. When the film ends, it certainly does end, just get up and leave. The quicker you get up and leave and you aren't subject to screaming bullshit will make the movie-going experience that much better. Who thought it was a good idea to have My Chemical Romance at the end of the film? It provides nothing but a headache after watching 2 1/2 hours of awesomeness. Tyler Bates dropped the ball on this one.

In the end, the moment of truth will come when the Directors Cut is released. Once the Tales of the Freighter is spliced in and once the extra hour of footage is added, only then will come the time to decide whether or not Synder did justice to the Watchmen. Until then, we are given quite the visual treat to watch over and over.

A job certainly well done. Bravo Zack Synder,

Jersey boys My Chemical Romance have been off the music scene since 2006's The Black Parade, but after getting a "fresh perspective," they're getting back in step. But don't assume they're coming up with Black Parade: Part Two! "It's going to be less layered than Black Parade. I do expect it to be a little more raw," frontman Gerard Way tells the BBC. "Black Parade was three years ago. You change a lot in three years. If I try to write more music like that I'd be doing people a disservice. There may be some people, that's just what they want, but I don't think our fans do." We'll have to wait 'til the end of the year for this one, but we've got a feeling it'll be so worth it.

Watching The 'Watchmen' Soundtrack

Last summer’s “The Dark Knight” was perhaps the most highly anticipated superhero film of all time— until Zack Snyder’s “Watchmen,” due March 6, came rumbling along. Adapted from the blockbuster 1985 graphic novel by writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons, “Watchmen” has been embroiled in an array of controversies, from legal battles over film rights, to the mixed feelings fans of the comic have toward the idea of a film version.

One thing that can be agreed upon, however, is the importance of music to “Watchmen.” References to music and lyrics run throughout the original graphic novel, reflecting a story that takes place in 1985 and flashes as far back as the 1930s.

On March 3, Reprise will release both a movie soundtrack album and recorded score by composer Tyler Bates. A limited edition vinyl collection will also be available via watchmenmusic.com.

Below is a track-by-track rundown of the soundtrack, which includes only one newly recorded track, My Chemical Romance’s cover of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row.” The rest of the songs span the Cold War era in which “Watchmen” is set, and stand to earn a new generation of fans.

1. "Desolation Row," My Chemical Romance

The haunting, 11-plus-minute closing track of Bob Dylan’s 1965 album "Highway 61 Revisited" plays an explicit role in the “Watchmen” graphic novel—the lyric "At Midnight All the Agents" is the title of the first chapter, which then closes with the extended stanza "At midnight, all the agents and the superhuman crew/go out and round up everyone that knows more than they do.” My Chemical Romance’s frantic, three-minute theatrical punk approach to the song is very little like the acoustic original, but may be more in synch with the urgent, action-intense pace of the film.

2. "Unforgettable," Nat King Cole

Written by Irving Gordon and first recorded by Nat King Cole in 1951, “Unforgettable” is one of the most recognizable of popular American ballads, winning three Grammys as recently as 1992 when Natalie Cole released the song as a “duet” with her late father.

In “Watchmen,” a commercial for superhero/entrepreneur Adrian Veidt’s perfume “Nostalgia” is set to the timeless song, part of Veidt’s strategy to offer retail escapism during the impending doom of the Cold War.

3. “The Times They Are A-Changin,” Bob Dylan

The title track of Dylan’s 1964 album is an iconic 20th century protest song, musically influenced by traditional Irish and Scottish ballads but quintessentially reflective of the 1960s in America. Dylan recorded the song less than a month before John F. Kennedy’s assassination on Nov. 22, 1963, and opened a concert with it the following night, giving both voice and punctuation to a nation in crisis.

In “Watchmen” the book, the song title is used as another slogan for a “Nostalgia” ad; in the film, the song plays behind an opening montage of re-imagined moments in U.S. history, fulfilling a clichéd -- but also highly appropriate -- function for a movie about an uncertain march toward cataclysm.

4. "The Sound of Silence," Simon & Garfunkel

Unlike the unplanned connection between Dylan’s song and Kennedy’s assassination, Paul Simon wrote this folk ballad (released at the time as “The Sounds of Silence”) in 1964 in direct response to the tragic event. It was released in September 1965 and peaked at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in Jan. 1966, prompting a reunion of the recently parted duo.

Simon rarely gives permission for use of the song in films (it was also featured in “The Graduate”), but in “Watchmen” it is played during the funeral of government-dispatched superhero Edward Blake—who, the movie suggests, was responsible for Kennedy’s death.

5. "Me and Bobby McGee," Janis Joplin

"Me and Bobby McGee," written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster, was first recorded by Roger Miller in 1969. But it was Janis Joplin’s emotionally riveting rendition of the folk rock anthem, recorded just a few days before her death in 1970, that earned the song its place in music history. The track became a posthumous No. 1 single on the Hot 100 for Joplin in 1971, and has become known as much for its subversive political refrain—“Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose”—as for its story of love and loss.
